This study is dedicated to examining the cultural interactions between France and Algeria in the post-colonial context of the 21st century. Specifically, the research aims to analyze the causes and consequences of linguistic and cultural appropriation between these two countries. The significance of the chosen topic is underscored by recent changes: in 2023, the teaching of French language and culture in Algeria was further reduced, leading to significant societal debates. These recent reforms stem from complex Franco-Algerian relations over the years, marked by movements of linguistic and cultural appropriation. Employing descriptive and experimental methods, this study presents specific examples of French and Algerian socio-cultural elements integrated into the culture of each country. Keywords: linguistic and cultural appropriation, post-colonial studies, Franco-Algerian relations, intercultural communication
