The phenomenon of the concept album caused a huge wave in popularity in the field of rock music, and many people, including some researchers, were not sure about its durability. Over several decades of existence, this phenomenon has spread to all musical genres. Despite the fact that poetic texts are used in concept albums, they are mainly studied by specialists in the field of music theory, and philologists do not pay enough attention to them and do not use them as part of a professional database of research materials. The main purpose of this study is to analyse and describe the phenomenon and its internal structure from a philological point of view. The research methods used were mainly structural, stylistic and discours analysis. The analysis is based on the lyrics of album tracks written in English or Russian to identify similarities and differences that may depend on the culture of the author. The final results of the analysis confirm the need to study the texts of musical concept albums as full-fledged literary works.
