Most publications dedicated to the topic of adaptation are focused on film-literary relationship. Current research is focused on the problem of adapting literature to comics. Firstly, because comics studies are yet in the process of becoming and, secondly, because the connection between comics and literature is more complex than it seems. The main idea of adaptation lies in the desire of recreation the world depicted in a story to make it more similar to virtual reality. Media can be put on a scale representing the distance between the form of a medium and VR. The most remote medium is literature. Comics stays not too far away. Thus, the goal of the research is to define principles of recreating the literary world in the form of comics.
