The present master's thesis undertakes a broad exploration of the concept of the "frame" at a time when the concept is undergoing both a systematic revival and a widespread transformation. It has always been tempting to view the frame as a relatively static, finite, and definable feature of psychoanalytic work. The present master's thesis undertakes a broad exploration of the concept of the frame at a time when the concept is undergoing both a systematic revival and a pervasive transformation. It has always been tempting to view the frame as a relatively static, finite, and definable feature of psychoanalytic work. The master's thesis is an in-depth, relevant study consisting of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the first chapter, the author elaborates on the theoretical foundations of the frame, as well as its significance in psychoanalytic coaching, in particular analyzing the evolution of the concept of the frame and its development to current interpretations. It makes it clear that the frame has important links to the client's experiences, including early experiences, and that by supporting the frame, the coach provides a container in which the client's anxieties can be progressively understood. The empirical part, which includes research of methodologies and analysis of cases from the practice of psychoanalytic coaches, allowed the author of the paper to test her hypotheses and understand that in individual coaching practitioners develop their own frame of work and decide for themselves whether missed sessions are paid for, whether sessions can be rescheduled, and what to do with vacations that do not coincide with their own plans.
