This study is aimed at developing a reliable tool for measuring systems thinking in a corporate environment, specifically targeting professionals at Dodo Brands. Systems thinking is a complex concept that includes the ability to seek diverse perspectives, understand causal relationships and dynamic patterns, focus on system-wide changes, and be aware of organizational culture and interpersonal relationships. To capture these elements, 10 real-world business scenarios were created and assessed using a two-part scoring system: one for correctness of option choice and another for the depth of interpretation. With 102 respondents, data analysis was conducted using Jamovi and Excel. The resulting tool was unidimensional and had excellent psychometric characteristics. The two-stage scoring improved the reliability of the tool to Cronbach’s alpha of 0.852 and McDonald's omega of 0.855. Validity arguments are discussed. Future research should involve larger and more diverse samples and consider automated scoring methods for wider use.
