The final course paper work “Medical Professional Liability Insurance: Problems and Prospects” studies problematic issues and prospects associated with the introduction of the institution of professional liability insurance for medical practitioners in the Russian Federation and in the number of foreign countries (USA, Sweden, Republic of Kazakhstan). The final paper compares the main provisions of the medical malpractice insurance systems that are currently in use in the world, their advantages and disadvantages. The whole paragraph is devoted to the new legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which introduces compulsory malpractice medical insurance for medical medics starting October 2024. The second chapter of the work presents the results of testing medics and potential patients in order to study the level of awareness of the essence and capabilities of the malpractice medical insurance, as well as the mechanism of influence of this type of insurance on the ability, on the one hand, to receive compensation in the event of unintentional harm to health, and, on the other hand, protect medics from material losses. In the final paper work, there are proposals for the introduction of the institution of compulsory medical malpractice insurance in the Russian Federation.
