Year of Graduation: 2024

The economically dynamic region of Southeast Asia is the most important market for outbound educational tourism, where the number of transnational educational programs is increasing every year. Although ASEAN has received more attention from tourism and education institutions, there has been limited research on educational tourism development in the region. Therefore, this study is aimed at identifying current trends in the development of international educational tourism in Southeast Asia, as well as identifying potential opportunities for expanding cooperation in this area. For this purpose, a comprehensive research method will be used, including content analysis of official documents of ASEAN and regional governments on the development of education and tourism, as well as a qualitative survey of the target audience. To identify key development factors and key players in the educational tourism market in the Southeast Asian region, a systematic approach will be used, as well as general scientific methods such as analogies, comparisons and generalizations, economic and comparative analysis. This study can identify the prerequisites for the development of international educational tourism in the coming years, including economic growth, a young population, rising living standards and awareness of the practical significance of international programs.
