This master's thesis is devoted to the study of the psychoanalytic aspects of the women's dilemma of family or career. The aim of the work is to consider the possible psychoanalytic aspects of the dilemma - family or career in women, based on research from the theoretical part using the psychodynamic method of the Balint group, as well as to identify the usefulness and effectiveness of this method in working with the dilemma. The research objectives are to consider psychoanalytic theories about gender development, to study the features of combining roles in the family and at work or in business and the quality of fulfilling these roles, to investigate the historical ideology on the topic of gender and gender roles. Using empirical research, to identify what was the cause of this dilemma, how the dilemma - family or career is reflected in overall life satisfaction, how the Balint group method helps to resolve the internal conflict of either family or work, what changes the participants experience from participating in the Balint group. The study revealed a significant influence of childhood gender experiences on the life path choices of women. Identification and disidentification with parental figures, successful resolution of the Oedipus conflict, and gender-based feelings of inadequacy play a key role in the formation of the "family or career" dilemma. The use of the Balint method in the context of women facing the "Family or Career" dilemma contributed to a deeper understanding of their internal conflicts and helped them find balanced solutions. This method provided an opportunity for self-reflection, emotional support, and analysis of unconscious processes that influence their life choices. Thus, this work offers not only theoretical, but also practical ways to increase the subjective well-being of women facing the "family or career" dilemma. It lays the foundation for further research and practices that will contribute to a deeper and more conscious approach to this important and multilayered problem.
