Psychosomatic reactions to anxiety are not just physical ailments. They are often a reflection of deep psychological conflicts that can subconsciously hold us back from realizing our ambitions. Recognizing that somatic reactions have a deeper basis than first appeared in coaching work allows us to better understand the sources of our internal resistance and take steps to overcome it. It is this depth and complexity of psychosomatic reactions that explains the relevance of this work, making it an important contribution to understanding the process of self-realization in business coaching. At the conclusion of the study, the effectiveness of psychosomatic methods was proven, which were especially effective when the client had mixed symptoms or with weak emotional awareness (strong resistance). Depending on the characteristics of the request and personality, psychosomatic methods were used either in the form of methods for directly establishing the meaning of the symptom, or in the form of indirect interpretation. Both of these options for using psychosomatic tools demonstrated the same effectiveness in working with anxiety on the path to self-realization. The importance of the coach’s level of competence was also revealed, since it is precisely this and the special approach that allows the consultant to qualitatively explore unconscious, deep processes. A competent coaching approach using psychoanalytic and psychosomatic methods helps clients realize their true needs and, as a result, overcome obstacles on the path to self-awareness and career self-determination.
