The Influence of Narcisstic aspects in leadership of Economic Depelopment

Annotation for a master's thesis on the topic: «The influence of narcissistic aspects in leadership on economic development» by student of the 2nd year, Kolobrodova Yu.Yu. The purpose of this master's thesis is to investigate the influence of narcissistic aspects in leadership on economic development. To achieve this goal, the following objectives have been set: - to reveal the nature of narcissism and give its main characteristics; - to show the connection between narcissism and leadership and the main approaches to understanding narcissism in the context of leadership; - to determine the impact of narcissistic leaders on the economy: whether it is positive or negative; to analyze the role of narcissistic leaders in the innovation fields of the economy; - to conduct research on practical material, analyze the obtained data, give an interpretation of the results, draw conclusions, and provide practical recommendations. Results of the work: - a regularity has been identified: a «healthy» narcissist has a positive influence, while a «malignant» narcissist has a negative influence; certain conditions and factors are necessary for a positive influence, one of which is the workaholism of the narcissistic leader; - the hypothesis that narcissistic leaders not only achieve the greatest success in business themselves (if they are workaholics), but also have a positive impact on the overall economic development (if narcissistic aspects are «healthy» and balanced with a number of positive traits) has been confirmed; - methods have been formulated to optimize the use of narcissistic qualities of leaders in the interests of sustainable social and economic development and to minimize the negative influence of narcissists on economic development, which is extremely relevant for the practice of domestic business and economic management of the country. This methodology can be applied in the field of personal and organizational diagnostics in the work of neutralizing the consequences of irrational behavior of narcissistic leaders and their erroneous managerial decisions.
