This work is devoted to the study and analysis of urban planning design standards in the Russian Federation. The purpose of the study is to determine the place and role of standards in planning the development of utility infrastructure. The relevance of this work lies in the fact that cities are currently developing rapidly, large volumes of new housing are being introduced, but it is not always possible to effectively provide in advance the required volumes of infrastructure and related infrastructure due to established procedures for the preparation of standarts. Accordingly, it was necessary to study the methods of how infrastructure is planned with the already established practice of urban regulation in Russia, study the experience of foreign countries and also see how it all works at the legislative level.
