Industrial Landscape of Georgy Solovyov and the Magnitogorsk School

The present research is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the industrial landscapes of Georgy Yakovlevich Solovyov and a group of artists sent to Magnitogorsk in the 1930s as part of the largest-scale construction of one of the first socialist cities. The object of the study is the industrial landscapes of G.Y.Solovyov, and the subject is the study of the place of the artist's landscapes in the context of the Magnitogorsk school. The use of historical-cultural, formal-stylistic and comparative method, as well as the method of social history of arts will allow us to achieve the main goal of the study - systematisation of information about the development of industrial landscape in the work of Georgiy Yakovlevich, who laid the foundation for the formation of the regional school. In each chapter of the study the following tasks will be consistently solved: firstly, to compile a biography and detailed study of G.Y.Solovyov's artistic heritage, secondly, to study the influence of historical context on the development of industrial landscape in the region, and thirdly, to identify the characteristic features inherent in the landscapes of the Magnitogorsk school of artists.
