Less-studied categories of female cult personnel in the Old Babylonian period

This paper aims to identify the main features of two categories of female cult personnel in the Old Babylonian period: kulmašītum and ugbabtum. Therefore, this study involves examining these social categories and investigating their status, occupation and role within the cult. The research is based on various textual sources in Akkadian and Sumerian languages. The greatest priority is attached to the sources of the Old Babylonian period. Key words: kulmašītum, ugbabtum, cult, Old Babylonian period.
