This is a collection of stories about people, each of whom has experienced their own great loss and is trying to find new support in life. Seventeenth-century English scientist John Wilkins lost his daughter and his faith in the justice of the world. Manager Larisa Ivanovna, trying to be good to everyone, did not live her own life. Stuntman Misha Grigoriev lost his parents and was in a plane crash. They all have to find answers to how and why to live further, and what or who can help them with this.
