This research offers an analysis of two prose works by B. Pasternak. They are "The Luvers Childhood" (1918) and "Ochrannaya gramota" (1930), focused on the problems of psychopoetics. Special attention is paid to children's images and their speech. Speech is considered from two positions – internal speech (reflection and thoughts of the hero, which are a reaction to something from the outside) and external speech (spoken words, built on the principle of "thought-word"). We have identified a number of principes that B. Pasternak used in constructing the ratio of internal and external speech in his early prose.
