Educational Programme: Sociology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

Scientific sociological discourse actively discusses the consequences of the spillover of a hobby into a profession among representatives of creative and IT spheres in the context of new technologies (Alimov, 2018; Akulich, 2017, Spracklen 2015). However, the issue of transforming a hobby into occupation remains unexplored when we talk about spheres that cannot be influenced by digital technologies that much. When an activity can be implemented online, a person is more likely to engage in it from a convenient space (Alimov, 2018), so transforming hobby to occupation means working in a non-working space. But in the case when special equipment is needed for an activity and it can only be implemented offline, so turning hobby to profession means spending leisure time in the workplace
