This research examines the relationship between musculoskeletal disorders, represented by spinal and joint diseases, and success in the professional-labor sphere, which includes indicators such as employment, bonuses and promotions; salary size, bonus size, job satisfaction. The empirical object of the study is young people aged 18 to 35 suffering from chronic musculoskeletal disorders. The peculiarity of the empirical object lies in the fact that at this age musculoskeletal disorders are non-systemic in nature. The research is based on the results of The Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS) for the years 2012-2022. According to the research findings, musculoskeletal disorders are associated with indicators of success in the professional-labor sphere; however, this relationship is weak and does not explain the variation in the indicators. A stable connection was found between musculoskeletal disorders and employment probability, but compared to socio-demographic characteristics and other career success indicators, chronic MSDs do not serve as strong predictors.
