The Influence of Visual Framing on the Reception of the Topic of Sex Education in Russia

This study is devoted to the analysis of the influence of visual framing on attitudes to the topic of sexual education in Russia through the study of visual content in social media. In the absence of formal sex education lessons in Russian schools, information about sexual literacy is widely disseminated via the Internet and social media. The study includes several stages of data analysis, such as qualitative content analysis, contextual analysis of photographs, analysis of denotative and connotative codes, as well as conducting an experiment with stimulus material. The results of the study showed that visual frames significantly affect the perception and attitude to the topic of sexual education. The study revealed semantic aspects and emotional nuances in relation to sexual literacy, the influence of media context on the perception of images, and also confirmed the positive impact of visual framing on attitudes towards sexual education.
