Inflation Narratives in Russia and their Impact on the Formation of Iinflationary Expectations

This paper explores narratives about inflation and deflation presented in Russian printed media. The study aims to investigate the relationship between news agenda and inflationary expectations of such economic agents as Russian population and enterprises. Content analysis of narratives that affects inflationary expectations has been conducted. As a result, several key narratives were revealed. There are Central Bank Policy, FRS Policy, Global Manufacturing, Investments, Retirement Payments, Construction, Utility Rates. Author demonstrates that discussion intensity on these narratives mitigate inflationary expectations of economic agents.
