This paper examines the marital and family relations of V. Bryusov in the context of his life-creation program. On the material of the poet's correspondence with his wife, I. Bryusova, as well as some of his poetic and prose texts, the main author's strategies of mythologizing marriage are revealed, which highlighted the “bourgeois” model of the poet's life-building in contrast to the “decadent” one. A separate subject of the study is the analysis of Brusov's perception of his own family tree, which clarifies the duality of the poet's self-representation.
