Combined Managerial - Legal Approach to the Development of Sledge - Hockey (Based on the Experience of Samara Region)

The project implemented as part of this research is dedicated to the readjustment of SMO veterans and disabled soldiers by involving them in sledge hockey. This will help to level the social tension among this group of the Russian population and may exemplify the readjustment properties hockey has for people with disabilities in the future. Once this project is implemented, it will accelerate the physical and psychological rehabilitation of newly-minted sledge hockey players.  The research part presents a set of qualitative research methods, including in-depth interviews, desk research and content analysis. All stages of the study completed in sequence made it possible to conceptualize the problem of the existing social need to rehabilitate SMO veterans through sports, as well as to identify the relevance of taking measures to develop sledge hockey. The work also proposes a mechanism that can be used in order to develop and promote sledge hockey in the Samara Region exemplified by a sledge hockey team created for SMO veterans.
