Lucian is the author of the second century AD, whose corpus of texts is incredibly extensive. In spite of this, Lucian's contemporaries have left us with almost little biographical details. His own writings could be used as the primary source for Lucian's biography. Even though Lucian left a wealth of personal information behind, it would be foolish to put all your faith in his stories because Lucian is a satirist and parody writer. In my work, I will focus on texts where Lucian appears in full, allowing his true emotions to flow (as is supposed to happen). Numerous scholars have examined Lucian's writings, but primarily this writer piqued their interest from other angles: numerous investigations focus on Lucian's social role, as well as the satirical element of his writings. The purpose of my work is to critically analyze a few chosen autobiographical texts of Lucian. So, I will attempt to present a psychological analysis of the writer. My work's second purpose is to organize, categorize the chosen Lucian writings and to take genre conventions into consideration. My primary work method is motive analysis. Analysis of other researchers' viewpoints is another way I utilize for my work; I will discuss about the methods in the corresponding section. The anticipated result of my work is to produce a comprehensive analysis of Lucian's autobiographical texts using genre-specific criteria.
