Year of Graduation: 2025

As part of the strategic goals of the Russian Federation until 2030, special attention is paid to the development of the IT industry, which already faces a shortage of qualified personnel in 2023. The system of secondary vocational education could quickly train specialists, the interest in which among schoolchildren has grown by almost 20% over the last six years. At the same time, there is a problem that students lack practical skills to work in high-tech sectors of the economy. One of the reasons for this is the low qualification of teaching staff who have lost touch with the industry. An option to solve this problem may be the involvement of professionals from IT and creative industries in the teaching in SVET. The results of the study are obtained through thematic analysis of in-depth semi-structured interviews of 20 professionals from the real sector of the economy who have been successfully involved in teaching for more than 1 year. The research reveals the main motives and typical difficulties of the adaptation period in educational organisations, on the basis of which methodological recommendations for college managers on the implementation of management practices of involvement, integration and retention of IT professionals in teaching in VET have been developed.
