Seminar "Employees’ with disabilities labour precarization in contemporary Russia: problem statement, definition of the concept, data examples and further research aspects"
On the 19th of June 2024 at 4 pm (Moscow time) the International Laboratory for Social Integration Studies of the HSE University will held a seminar to present the results of a theoretical and empirical overview study on the precarisation of the labour of people with disabilities in contemporary Russia.
The aim of the seminar is to discuss the context of the problem situation, the various authors' different theoretical views on precarisation in the relevant literature and the possible role of people with disabilities in these precarity conceptions, as well as to discuss potential research questions related to different conceptions of precarisation.
During the seminar the examples of empirical data suitable for the study on this topic will be also offered. These data examples data can be used by social researchers to further investigate the process of precarisation of people with disabilities' labour - for example, drivers and barriers of precarity (identified on the basis of expert interviews with the staff of the public employment center) and future research directions: intersectional research, corporate culture, platformisation of work and social programmes. The results to be presented at the seminar were obtained as part of a study led by Victoria Antonova, PhD, Professor, leading researcher at the ILSIR.
The presentation will be held by Arseniy Buchatsky, a research assistant at the ILSIR. The debater is Dmitry Raidugin, Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
The working language is Russian. The seminar will be held online and offline in office 431 in the building of the HSE University at 20 Myasnitskaya Str.
