Artem Oganyan took part in the XII Winter Sociological School
The XII Winter School on the topic "Modern Researcher: communication, analytics, consulting" was held from February 15 to 19, 2023. The School was organized by All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion in partnership with Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
Artem Oganyan (Research Assistant of the ILSIR) was pleased to share with us his impressions about the participation:
"The Winter School brought together young researchers from all over Russia and CIS countries. From early morning until late at night, my colleagues and I attended lectures, master classes, honed our hard and soft skills with leading expert practitioners, and at night we created our own projects.
Much attention was paid at the School to the issues of communication and presentation of research results, effective interaction with customers and society. A modern sociologist is primarily a consultant who helps solve the customer's problems with his research in conditions of constant turbulence and unpredictability.
Within the framework of the School, we learned to plan, implement and present our data from a practical point of view – so that the customer could make effective decisions with the help of our recommendations. We mastered communication techniques (even with the help of acting trainings!) and creative techniques for managing uncertainty, generating new ideas. As a result, my colleagues and I, with the help of all the accumulated skills, successfully defended the project to increase the tourist and investment attractiveness of the Astrakhan region at an impromptu consulting session.
It can be said that my experience of participating in the Winter School was definitely useful. Thanks to him, I began to perceive the role of a modern sociologist differently, focused not only on the academic environment. I would also like to thank Elena Rostislavovna for reporting on this event.
