Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova and Daria Prisyazhniuk took part in the meeting of the Interdepartmental Strategic Project-Analytical Session dedicated to the development of an evidence-based approach in the social sphere
On June 27, 2024, Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova and Daria Prisyazhniuk took part in the meeting of the Interdepartmental Strategic Project and Analytical Session “Evidence-Based Social Policy: Implementation of an Evidence-Based Approach at the Federal Level and Conditions for Effective Replication of Practices”.
The session was held at the Institute of Continuing Professional Education for Social Workers.
It was attended by the Head of the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, ICPE, the Center for Evidence-Based Social Design of MSUPE, the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research of the HSE, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, charitable foundations, program evaluation specialists and other individuals interested in developing an evidence-based approach in the social sphere.
Tatyana Podushkina, head of the Center for Evidence-Based Social Design of MSUPE, presented a three-level model of network verification of social practices and spoke about federal registers of evidence-based practices and expert support from specialists in the field of evidence-based approach.
Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova, professor and head of the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research of the HSE, proposed taking into account the specifics of the evidence-based approach methodology at various stages of verification of practices and levels of decision-making in social policy.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the values of using an evidence-based approach and problem areas in this area. They put forward proposals to create a consortium of partner organizations to implement an evidence-based approach at the federal level.
It was decided to continue cooperation within the consortium and various areas of network partnership.
After the project session, an awards ceremony was held for the winners of the annual competition of best social practices "Sfera", in which Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova took part, delivering a welcoming speech about the relevance of using an evidence-based approach.
