Go East! DAAD Scholarships for Students from Germany at HSE this Summer
HSE joins universities from across Eastern Europe and Eurasia in welcoming students from Germany for short-term summer study. Since 2003, DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has enabled students to study in the region to broaden their exposure and build strong language skills.
This is the first year that German students can study at HSE through Go East. Ten scholarships are available for HSE-Moscow’s Summer University, which will be held over three weeks, from June 22 to July 11. The core of the programme is Russian language classes, which are offered at three levels (elementary, intermediate, and advanced) and held every day. Additionally, students can take courses including Challenges to EU-Russian Economic Links, Media, Culture, and Society, Russian Space and Russian State, Doing Business in Russia.
Fifteen DAAD-sponsored scholarships are also available for German students who wish to enrol in HSE-St. Petersburg’s three-week programme “The Topography of Imperial Power: The Political Space of St. Petersburg”. Held September 8-29, 2015, the programme examines the city as the capital of Imperial Russia from 1721 to 1917. Courses are taught in English and German.
DAAD Go East scholarships are only valid for the specific programme dates listed above, however, scholarships recipients can choose to extend their studies at HSE. They are welcome to take more Summer University courses (held from June 22 to August 8, 2015) by paying the regular tuition fee.
