HSE University Enters THE Top 100 in Economics and Appears in Law Ranking for the First Time

HSE took 94th place in the THE ranking in Business & Economics, outperforming all the other Russian universities in this subject. In addition, the university entered the ranking in Law for the first time (151+ cohort), becoming the only Russian university represented there.

Spring 2020: Second Call

The second call for the international student mobility within university-wide agreements in Spring 2020 is open from October 10.

Prof. Dr Thomas Dohmen from the Institute for Applied Microeconomics, University of Bonn, Germany is to deliver an honorary lecture at the upcoming April Academic Conference at HSE University April 9 – 12. On March 20, at the HSE Staff and Student Conference, HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov presented the key points of the new Development Programme for the period extending to 2030. The points he suggested have prompted a series of discussions in the university corporate environment aimed at choosing the best avenues and tools for development.

People have already submitted their applications to Master’s and Bachelor’s programmes at HSE University. So far, students from 113 countries have expressed their interest in studying at HSE University. For the 2019/2020 academic year, HSE University is offering 10 Bachelor’s programmes and 31 Master’s programmes taught entirely in English. The strongest applicants will be eligible for full or partial scholarships. For Master’s programmes, applications will be evaluated on the strength of the portfolios that can be submitted online via an applicant’s personal account on HSE University’s website.

Sergey Pekarski Elected New Dean of Faculty of Economic Sciences

The HSE Academic Council announced that Sergey Pekarski, Head of the Department of Theoretical Economics, will take over as  Dean of Faculty from Oleg Zamulin, who will join Sberbank’s Centre of Macroeconomic Research as Director. Professor Zamulin will retain his position of  professor at the faculty and continue teaching.

HSE offers several scholarships that allow international students to cover part of their tuition fees in both undergraduate and graduate programmes. Scholarships are offered as a tuition discount for international students and take effect at the time of their enrolment in HSE. The scholarships are granted for the full period of studies.

HSE Rises 50 Places in THE Social Sciences Ranking and Maintains Position in Business and Economics

HSE has improved its position in two Times Higher Education (THE) rankings compared to last year. The university demonstrated the greatest growth in the Social Sciences category, rising from the 175-200 group to 126-150. Additionally, HSE improved within the 101-125 group of the Business and Economics ranking.
