Prof. Vladimir A. Fomichov successfully organized the Fourth International Conference on Cognitonics in Slovenia

Prof. Vladimir A. Fomichov organized and co-chaired the 4th International Conference on Cognitonics (Cognit-2015) that was held in Slovenia, Ljubljana, on October 12-13, 2015. Cognitonics (or the Science about the Human Being in the Digital World) is a new scientific discipline that was born in Russia. The term ‘cognitonics’ was introduced by Vladimir A. Fomichov and Olga S. Fomichova in an article published in 2004 in Canada.

The first objective of Cognitonics is to explicate the distortions in the perception of the world caused by the information society and globalization. The second, principal objective of Cognitonics is to cope with these distortions in different fields by means of elaborating systemic solutions for compensating the negative implications of the kind for the personality and society, in particular, for creating cognitive-cultural preconditions of the harmonic development of the personality in the information society and knowledge society (or smart society) and for ensuring the successful development of national cultures and national languages.

The conference Cognit-2015 was a part of the 18th International Multiconference ‘Information Society’ organized by the Jožef Stefan Institute (http://is.ijs.si). 36 researchers from 17 countries of the world, including PR China, India, Japan, Bulgaria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovenia, Finland, and Sweden, took part in the event.

Professor V. A. Fomichov presented the paper ‘Early Development of the Human Being Ideal Constituent and Art Cognitonics as the Answer to the Challenge of Knowledge Society’ co-authored by Olga S. Fomichova. He also co-authored the paper ‘A Look of Cognitonics at the Role of Museums in Cognitive Engagement of the Adolescents and University Students’ (Olga S. Fomichova, Vladimir A. Fomichov, and Svetlana M. Gordeeva).

The Proceedings of the conference Cognit-2015 are available free of charge (follow the link http://publications.hse.ru/books/168832704).
