Russian-French Workshop Big Data and Solutions Based on It
On December 2nd Russian-French workshop “Big data and solutions based on it” took place in Higher School of Economics (HSE) National Research University and had over 50 participants from leading universities and companies from all over Russian Federation and France. The workshop was held by HSE School of Business Informatics with the support of French Embassy.
In 2016 Russia and France were celebrating the 50th anniversary of technological cooperation that made this workshop significant and confirmed strong connection between research groups of both countries.
Greetings to participants of the workshop were made by Prostakov Ivan Valerevich, HSE vice-rector, Alexis Michel, science and technology counselor of ambassador of France, and Maltseva Svetlana, head of School of Business Informatics.
The participants noted the productivity of seminar especially because of such essential topics as “Big Data processing” and “Big Data applications” were discussed. The main objective of this meeting was to establish proper communication between research groups from Russia and France in order to make joint applications to receive a foundation from Russian and European Science Foundations for the development of “big data” projects. Regarding this, one of the most fascinating reports was about “Horizon 2020” program and it was made by Bykova Marina, international science and technology cooperation specialist representing EU in Russia.
Summarily there were over 30 reports that covered many issues connected with big data. By the end of this seminar it was decided to publish the collection of abstracts.
We hope the “Big data and solutions based on it” workshop was useful for everyone and we have a great mind to have meetings like this on a permanent basis.
