Our Alumni a Year after Graduation

The first graduation ceremony for the double-degree Master’s programme in Big Data Systems and Information Systems Management took place one year ago. We met our first graduates, Sebastian Kollmann and Daniela Sefzig, for an interview. They talked to us about how they spent this year.

During the period from March 13 to 30б 2017, School of business informatics conducted an intensive course on big data analytics delivered by Visiting professor Andreas Rauber from Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems of the Faculty of informatics at Vienna University of Technology (Technische Universität Wien, TU Wien).

In March 2017, International Olympiad Competitions will be held for perspective students interested in studying in Master’s programmes at HSE University. All current undergraduate students and recent university graduates students interested in pursuing a Master’s degree are invited to participate.

On December 2nd  Russian-French workshop “Big data and solutions based on it” took place in Higher School of Economics (HSE) National Research University and had over 50 participants from leading universities and companies  from all over Russian Federation and France. The workshop was held by HSE School of Business Informatics with the support of French Embassy.

First Graduates Complete Double-degree Master’s Programme in Big Data Systems and Information Systems Management

On June 27, 2016, the first graduation ceremony for the double-degree Master’s programme in Big Data Systems and Information Systems Management was held at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. The ceremony marks three years of successful collaboration between HSE and University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien.

Students Come from Far and Wide to Study Big Data Systems

The Master’s programme in Big Data Systems at the Higher School of Economics focuses on the value aspect of big data for large enterprises and the implementation of big data technology in enterprises. Two current students of the programme share their thoughts about what drew them to HSE to study big data, what they hope to gain from the programme and what advice they would give to prospective international students.

French Delegation Visits School of Business Informatics to Discuss Cooperation in Big Data Studies

In March 2016, the School of Business Informatics (Faculty of Business and Management) at HSE was visited by a delegation from France’s University of Évry; in late 2015, a student exchange agreement was signed between HSE and this university. The delegation brought 19 students from the Master’s programmes in the field of big data at the University of Évry to Moscow.

Prof. Vladimir A. Fomichov successfully organized the Fourth International Conference on Cognitonics in Slovenia

Prof. Vladimir A. Fomichov organized and co-chaired the 4th International Conference on Cognitonics (Cognit-2015) that was held in Slovenia, Ljubljana, on October 12-13, 2015. Cognitonics (or the Science about the Human Being in the Digital World) is a new scientific discipline that was born in Russia. The term ‘cognitonics’ was introduced by Vladimir A. Fomichov and Olga S. Fomichova in an article published in 2004 in Canada.
