Lecture by Dmitry Panchenkov on Irreversible Electroporation - a New Surgical Treatment Method for Oncological Diseases
April 18, 2022, a lecture by Dmitry Nikolaevich Panchenkov, MD, professor, surgeon-oncologist, head of the Department of Surgery and Surgical Technologies, A.I. Evdokimov Moscow State Medical University was held for students of Master's programme "Bioeconomics" as part of the course "Design, organization and management of biotechnological production".
As part of his lecture, Dmitry Panchenkov told the students about the latest and extremely promising technology for local impact on tumors using non-thermal energy - the method of irreversible electroporation. In particular, the advantages and limitations of this method were highlighted. Currently, this technology is practically unavailable in Russia.
Dmitry Panchenkov spoke about the experience of developing a domestic analogue of the apparatus for non-thermal irreversible electroporation of tumors, which is currently being actively developed with his participation, and, with a high probability, will have high future prospects.
