An interview with Elena Gorina who graduated from our program!

1. What was your motivation to choose the master’s programme 'Cognitive Sciences and Technologies: From Neuron to Cognition'?

During my bachelor years I was lucky to attend several workshops given by PI’s from this program. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the passion about science and knowledge sharing, as well as the attitude to students.  I also talked to students and alumni of this program, hearing mostly favourable reports.

2. What do you appreciate the most about this master’s program?

First of all, it was quite a pleasure to study & work, «adapt, improvise and overcome» coude à coude with such intelligent, unique, dedicated and supportive people.  Another thing is that this program provides students with enormous amount of opportunities to deepen their knowledge, improve skills, and put their ideas into practice.

3. Which professional skills did you develop  during this program?

Along with the fact, that this program helped me to develop my soft skills, I have also had enough hands-on practice with the methods i was interested in.

4. Did research experience here help with further pathway towards PhD?

Definitely yes! I was lucky to work with very encouraging PI's, so by the end of the program I was trained quite well, and thus was confident about my capability to go further into PhD studies. Recently I've started my PhD at the Brain Attention & Time Perception Lab, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Concurrently I continue working on the projects with HSE colleagues.
