Student Profile
I chose the SCF program for several reasons:
- the program offers two degrees in two different countries within two years i.e. the SCF program is a double degree program which offers you the opportunity to embark on a second master program with the partner university in the second year. Currently am a second-year student doing my double degree exchange program at the University of Luxembourg studying Master in Quantitative Economics and Finance.
- the program sounds very strategic. HSE is one of the few universities offering this particular program at a very high quality and excellent delivery.
- the program combines both the theoretical and practical approach in addressing and solving complex business problems.
My expectation from the program is to be equipped with the theoretical and practical knowledge to solve complex business problems facing the strategic level managers in the fast-changing business environment.
My one-year experience at HSE University has been interesting and challenging experience. SCF programme is very demanding, challenging and interesting at the same time. The programme has exposed me to the practical aspect of corporate finance and has also exposed me to the industry leaders who provided us with the real insights in the real business environment. The opportunity to work at the Corporate Finance Lab in the departments has also deepen my knowledge in the area of Corporate Financial Architecture and firm performance of innovative companies in the emerging capital market.
After working in the Corporate Finance Lab, I came to the conclusion that I can make a more significant mark as a business researcher in the business schools by making discoveries and bridging the gaps between the theories in the academic world and practice in the professional world. After my master programme, I intend to embark on a PhD programme in Finance, work as a finance researcher in one of the leading business schools and later create business school in Nigeria to train young business leaders who will contribute to the country's economic and social development.

For me, there was no doubt that SCF is the strongest program in Finance at HSE. Upon admission, I expected that the study would be difficult, but very useful and high-quality. As a second-year student, I can say that the reality was even better than expected.
The unique balance of academic and practical knowledge is one of the main advantages of the program. I would also like to note the continuous acquisition of new skills (multitasking, teamwork), the extension of knowledge in the field of Finance and Economics through a wide variety of study courses and, as a result, continuous self-development.
I would like to mention the people who surround me on the program: professors are the highest professionals with inspiring academic and practical experience who are ready to answer any of our questions at any time; students are talented guys who motivate to move forward; managers are responsive coordinators who will help us in the shortest time. All together, these people create a unique atmosphere that I appreciate so much.
It was nice to learn from personal experience that employers know and appreciate the SCF program and its graduates. During my studies at SCF I managed to become a prize-winner of the student Olympiad and visit the Winter Economic School. After six months of studying, I managed to get an invitation to work in several international companies.
After graduation, I plan to apply all my knowledge and skills to work, and I will be proud to be a graduate of the HSE SCF program.
