1. Admission via Olympiads participation

1.1. HSE Olympiad for students and graduates

Undergraduate students as well as graduates can take part in HSE Olympiad for students and graduates, both Russian and international. All winners and prize winners of the HSE Olympiad will be given priority admission to master programmes that correspond to chosen profile of the Olympiad. The HSE Olympiad is held in English. Registration and participation is free of charge. 

1.2. International Competition «Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project»

International students are invited to participate in the the international competition “Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project”, which is being organized by the “Global Universities Association”. 

International students, stateless persons, and Russian citizens permanently living abroad, who already have a Bachelor’s degree or are completing a Bachelor’s programme in 2022 can participate in this competition. Registration is open from 15 September 2022 to 10 December 2022.

2. Admission for international applicants via portfolio competition

Please familiarize yourself with minimum portfolio requirements and  application process at HSE graduate admission website. Application is free of charge and submitted online.

There are several attachments that you should be ready to upload for your portfolio:

Motivation letter - 15 points
One page of A4 printed text which covers:
a) reasons why the candidate wants to study in this master's programme;
b) future career goals and plan

Resume - 10 points
A resume covering employment history and, or academic work, including internships during bachelor programme, indicating the position and the list of duties performed.

Letters of recommendation
Written recommendations from faculty, colleagues. Required for quota applicants

Diploma or current transcript - 20 points
Copy of diploma and transcript with the list of courses. If diploma is not yet awarded, the applicant provides the current transcript of grades
Grades A +, A, B +

Academic publications, presentation at research seminars/conferences - 5 points
List of articles in academic or professional journals, Articles / abstracts in working papers, conferences, collections of student papers, etc., indicating the name of the author and publication titles

Participation in the student Olympiad, certificate - 5 points
GRE or GMATGRE or GMAT certificates with points over 50% (also pls check scale of transfer of points on the programme website)

International certificates of English language - 5 points
TOEFL / IELTS / PTE / CAE / BEC
IELTS not less than 6.0 points, TOEFL IBT not less than 80 points, TOEFL PBT not less than 500 points, TOEFL CBT of not less than 232, CAE with grade C (pass), CPE with grade A, B or C, BEC Higher with grade A, B or C. Higher scores do not add extra points.

Online interview - 40 points
For those whose score is higher than 30 points without interview

 TOTAL 100 points
