New Registration Rules Now in Place for Foreign Citizens in Russia
On July 8, amendments to Russian migration legislation regulating the registration of foreign citizens coming to the Russian Federation came into effect. They concern, in particular, HSE’s international employees and students. The most important change: you now must be registered at the place where you actually live.
Subject Selection Campaign for Students Has Begun
From May 15- 30, bachelor’s and master’s students (from second year onwards) select their electives for the 2018/2019 academic year.
Increased State Academic Scholarship: What Сhanges Can We Expect?
Applications for the Increased State Academic Scholarship open in May. The main changes to the scholarships to be awarded this summer concern those for social achievements. Students receiving Russian government scholarships (quotas) are eligible to apply. Increased State Academic Scholarship is not applicable for students who pay for their tution.
How the State Scholarship Students Can Get an HSE Bank Card
Starting from June 30th, 2018, HSE undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students will be able to get their state scholarships only with their MIR cards. There are three ways to reissue the card, including getting a unique HSE-designed card. The main thing to remember is that, no matter which way you choose, you need to finalize everything by June 30th, 2018.
Bank Cards for State Scholarship Students
HSE has started distributing bank cards to its first-year students. If you are an international student on a Russian govenment scholarship (quota) you are eligible for such a card. On September 22, the first scholarships will be transferred via these cards. The schedule for the distribution of bank cards is presented below.

Electronic Portfolio Offers HSE Students New Service
HSE has been implementing LMS (Learning Management System) — an electronic system of education process support – for several years. A new service, called ‘Student Electronic Portfolio’ (StEP), which is based on LMS and gathers information about students’ achievements in various fields has been developed by the Administrative Staff Development Programme project group.
HSE Best Teachers Election Starts
From May 30 to June 19 students can vote for HSE’s best teachers of the academic year. This year there is no need to come to the university to vote. Students and alumni can submit their scores online via LMS.
