Ilya Stepanov about the new Master's Programme "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development" at the Faculty WE&IA of the Higher School of Economics
ECOCUP, the annual international green documentary film festival, was recently held. Within the framework of the event, a discussion "Where should go to study: Education in the field of sustainable development" was organized, one of the speakers of which was Ilya Stepanov, Academic Advisor of the Master's Programme "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development" and Deputy Head of the HSE Research Laboratory for Climate Change Economics.

November 21, as part of the ECOCUP festival, a discussion "Where should go to study: education in the field of sustainable development" was held. Indeed, in the age of global climate change, anormous environmental problems and drastic shifts in the social, economic and political structure of the world, one of the most pressing issues is the shortage of specialists prepared for the challenges of the new time. At the HSE, the global need for professionals capable of working with the ESG agenda has been taken into account: for example, in 2022 the first enrollment for the Master's Programme "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development" will take place. Ilya Stepanov will become its Academic Advisor. He highlightes that the Programme will become the 1st platform in Russia for training specialists working with the economic aspects of the interaction of economic agents with the environment. During the studying, students will be able to master the tools of economic analysis of environmental issues and its mitigation opportunities and subsequently find work in such giant organizations as The World Bank, Unilever, Societe Generale, IKEA, Deloitte, etc.
