CFA Institute Research Challenge opened the selection for participation in the international financial-investment competition

We invite you to participate in CFA Institute Research Challenge– annual international financial-investment competition held by CFA Institute among student teams.

Target-group: 4-year Bachelors and 1-2-year Masters

More than 30 universities from all over Russia, as well as universities from Belarus and Azerbaidzhan, took part in CFA IRC 2017/2018. HSE Team keeps to take the high places at the Russian CFA IRC stage and not once represented our country at the international competition stages, including Amsterdam, Chicago and Prague. 

Participation in the competition would provide you:

• to make your theoretical knowledge, gained in the class, - applied;
• to get the clear understanding of all the stages of investment analysis;
• to learn from the investment professionals’ experience;
• to meet the representatives of other universities and countries;
• to improve your public speaking and team work skills.

We expect your application for the competition if you are self-confident and familiar with the fundamentals of financial and investment analysis and corporate finance, if you are fluent in English and eager to become the member of the Team, which will represent HSE at CFA IRC 2018 / 2019.

Selection has 2 stages:

Stage I: you send the application to bank@hse.ru before September 25, 2018.

The application has to include the following documents in English:

1. CV;

2. motivation letter explaining why it is important for you to take part in the competition and why you are the precious candidate for HSE Team;

3. presentation with 3 slides with the mini-analysis and a recommendation “buy”/ “hold” / “sell” for any public company of your choice.

Stage II: interview for those who successfully passed Stage I, where you are expected to present the following:

1. short self-presentation;

2. the results of the mini-analysis of the public company, chosen at Stage I.

After Stage II 5 students will be nominated for the HSE Team having the opportunity to get the unique experience of the international competition.
