ICEF MSc Students Passed Thesis Defense
Of the 18 students who presented their thesis studies, 3 received the maximum score (10) and 7 excellent scores (8 and 9). This year’s class’s theses deal with topics as diverse as cryptocurrency markets, pension schemes, gender impact on financial transactions, and even climate trade and carbon futures pricing.

At the recently held MSc Financial Economics Webinar, the prospective students learned about the admission requirements, instruction, and prospects after graduation. Invited to speak before the audience were also programme graduates. They shared their experience of starting a career and gave tips on how to achieve academic success and jumpstart career.

Grigory Zhirnov earned his master’s from ICEF in 2020 and is currently pursuing PhD studies. ICEF Graduates and Students Announced Winners of Student Research Paper Competition-2022
The HSE University has summed up the results of its Student Research Paper Competition-2022, held among students and graduates. For the representatives of ICEF, this contest was yet another proof of their excellent performance. Four won prizes as best finance and economics papers, three more received an honourable mention. This year’s competition among participants was greater than ever: since 2021 the authors of the winning papers receive a special scholarship from HSE for exceptional academic achievements.

Student Tutor Gives Talk at ICEF on Cryptocurrencies and NFTs
Cryptocurrencies have fallen to two-year low after FTX exchange filed for bankruptcy in November 2022, sending shock waves through the crypto world and agitating investors to revise their strategies and predictions as to what will happen on the digital investment market. In her talk called Cryptocurrencies and NFT, Victoria Dobrynskaya explained the volatility of crypto markets and expanded on the phenomenon of NFT as a digital asset.
