Of the 18 students who presented their thesis studies, 3 received the maximum score (10) and 7 excellent scores (8 and 9). This year’s class’s theses deal with topics as diverse as cryptocurrency markets, pension schemes, gender impact on financial transactions, and even climate trade and carbon futures pricing.

Francesca Macchia studies Finance at LUISS (Rome) and is in her second year of double-degree track with ICEF’s Master of Financial Economics. This year, Francesca’s paper won the third prize from HSE Student Research Paper Competition. June 25 to July 8, the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China, is hosting the 2023 Global Academy Summer Camp. Corporate Green Innovation and Sustainability. Registered as its participants are eleven bachelor's and master's students of ICEF.

Yuliana Loginova is in her second year of ICEF MSc Financial Economics programme and is currently receiving training at LUISS University in Rome as a double-degree student. Valentin Stepanov, who is in his first year of master’s studies at ICEF, got his graduate paper The impact of innovation news coverage on illiquid stocks: the case of the US market accepted by the European Journal of Innovation Management. Guiding Valentin’s research was Professor Elena Fedorova of HSE University. Here’s what Valentin thinks makes innovation a permanent source of inspiration, what paper submission process involves, and what makes preparing a paper a useful experience for studies and career progress.

The HSE University has summed up the results of its Student Research Paper Competition-2022, held among students and graduates. For the representatives of ICEF, this contest was yet another proof of their excellent performance. Four won prizes as best finance and economics papers, three more received an honourable mention. This year’s competition among participants was greater than ever: since 2021 the authors of the winning papers receive a special scholarship from HSE for exceptional academic achievements.

The students, lecturers and office of the MSc Financial Economics got together for the Welcome Pizza Day, an opportunity to talk informally that involved absorbing presentations and revealed exciting things about each other’s personalities.
