The Master's program in History, Theory and Philosophy of Law combines an in-depth study of the theoretical and historical foundations of state and law with the formation of applied legal skills. The curriculum is based on the combination of disciplines that form a fundamental component of classical legal education, with modern developments in the general theory of law, institutional history of law, history of legal ideas, philosophy of law and comparative jurisprudence. Much attention is paid to the study of topical and controversial constructions developed by domestic and Western science.

The program is aimed at training lawyers with a broad interdisciplinary outlook, ready for research in scientific and educational institutions, as well as for practical work in state and municipal institutions, commercial structures and non-profit organizations on issues related to the development and substantiation of concepts of institutional transformations with their subsequent analytical support and regulatory support.

In the course of training on the program: 1) legal training of the master's level is given to bachelors of jurisprudence, aimed at obtaining deep fundamental knowledge within the framework of basic legal disciplines; 2) training of specialists with a non-legal education is carried out, aimed at working in legal practice and in the legal research area.

The program is aimed at training highly qualified specialists with modern fundamental knowledge in the field of theory of state and law, history of state and law, philosophy of law, history of legal doctrines, comparative jurisprudence.

The graduate of the program possesses the professional competencies necessary for the implementation of organizational and managerial activities in the form of the ability to make optimal decisions and perceive managerial innovations in the relevant sphere of work.

The graduate is prepared for expert consulting, analytical activities, consisting in the assessment of legislative and law enforcement practice, preparation of draft regulatory legal acts and administrative decisions in the field of their professional activities.

The graduate of the program is able to choose the best research methods and develop new ones, based on the tasks of a specific research, as well as taking into account an understanding of the architectonics and the internal logic of state and legal development.

The graduate is able to process the results obtained, analyze and interpret them, taking into account the knowledge of the state of scientific research in the field of theory and history of state and law, comparative jurisprudence and philosophy of law.

The main practical area of ​​application of the competencies obtained by the master in the course of mastering this program are the following areas of professional activity: expert and analytical (work in analytical centers, government agencies and in the third sector); organizational and legal (work in government bodies, in legal companies, etc.); research (work in university laboratories, research institutions).

The curriculum of the master's program "History, Theory and Philosophy of Law" combines the following courses: Modern problems of legal science; Methodology and research methods in law; History of political and legal thought; Legal analytics; Normography: theory and technology of rule-making; Sociology of Law; Source study of the history of the state and law of Russia; State-confessional relations: foreign and domestic experience of legal regulation; Islamic concept of law and state; Philosophy of Law (in English); History of Russian constitutionalism.

Much attention is paid to the study of topical and controversial constructions developed by both domestic and Western science.

Theoretical courses and practical exercises are aimed at an in-depth analysis of the problems of modern Russian state-legal reality and an assessment of their adequate coverage in scientific research.

The program provides for the unity of educational and research processes in accordance with international standards for the preparation of masters. It contains an integrated approach to general theoretical studies of law and the state, which provides for the interconnection and interdependence of legal principles with the economy, politics, social sphere and other subsystems of society. This approach is designed to help students develop the skills of legal analysis of regulatory processes based on domestic and foreign experience, based on modern scientific methodology.
