On 29 November, 1st year Master students of Law in International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration program met with the partner of the Moscow office of Baker McKenzie, a graduate of the law faculty of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (2004), Vladimir Efremov, and an associate lawyer of Moscow Baker McKenzie office, Hava Kadyrova. The students had a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the activities of one of the leading law firms in the world, about the main areas of work of the lawyers of the International Trade and Commerce practice, as well as the most interesting projects they face in international markets and in Russia. Special attention was paid to legal problems arising from business as a result of economic sanctions (sanctions compliance). During the master class, an interesting discussion took place on this topic.
The students also got acquainted with the specifics of work at Baker McKenzie and the tasks that lawyers face every day. Future graduates had a unique opportunity to converse with potential employers who were able to answer all the questions. As part of Q&A, students learned what skills and competencies need to be developed, how a career is built in an international law firm, and what steps make up future employment.
The master class of the lawyers of the Moscow office of Baker McKenzie was very interesting and informative. The HSE Faculty of Law, the Master program in Law of International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration and 1st year undergraduates express their deep appreciation to Vladimir Efremov and Hava Kadyrova for their time, knowledge and experience that they shared with the students.
