The HSE team successfully performed in the European rounds of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO law

The HSE Faculty of Law team successfully performed in the European regional rounds of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO law, held in Czech Republic, Brno on 2-6 March 2020. This year the strongest teams from all over Europe participated in the Competition. The HSE team won the award for the best сomplainant written submission, as well as the award for the  best overall written submission.


The HSE Faculty of Law team was represented by first year students of the Master's programme 'Law of International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration': Alice Protasova, Elizaveta Rachkova, Sergey Korotkov and Ahmad Ali. The team was couched by Daria Boklan and Yury Rovnov.

The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition is the most prestigious international competition on WTO law. The competition is a simulated hearing in the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system. This year the case concerned the issues of violation of the Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures as well as GATT provisions on most-favoured-nation treatment and general exceptions.
