Abstract

The course seeks to explore the transformation of the global energy order and the changing energy strategies of producing nations of the Middle East and Russia and of energy consuming nations of Asia.

  • The goals of the course: - to present an assessment of the changing global energy order; - to demonstrate the main trends of energy policies and strategies of individual countries and companies; - to present a set of comparative cases of the changing global energy architecture.

  • Examines the role of the IEA, the IAEA and the IRENA in the regulation of the energy sector

  • Analyzes the relationship between domestic and external energy policy components in OECD countries
  • Explains the "oil curse" in politics and political economy of energy rich nations
