The programme trains specialists in language policy, namely in the analysis and development of interaction strategies between ethno-cultural communities- those who would have been capable of constructing the Tower of Babel. It is based on the fundamental multidisciplinary study of language activity of groups and individuals. The programme addresses the situation in Russia and focuses on its particularities, both in the regions and in modern megacities. Language policy and language planning in various areas of modern society are also examined: national security, education, the labor market, migration, and the preservation of the linguistic cultural heritage.
