Master’s Degree Students Will Take Part in the 1st International Conference 'Foreign Languages in Education: Issues and Perspectives'

On December 3-4, 2015 students of the Master's programme 'Foreign Languages and Cross-cultural communication' will participate in the First International Conference 'Foreign Languages in Education: Issues and Perspectives' organized by the HSE School of Foreign Languages.

The students will have a chance to get acquainted with the most topical issues of linguistics, cross-cultural communication, and the teaching of foreign languages, namely:

· Linguistic and socio-cultural aspects of foreign language acquisition

· Translation theory and practice in higher education

· Language assessment across various stages of formal education

· Innovative approaches to foreign language teaching

· Peculiarities of teaching several foreign languages simultaneously

· Professional development of foreign language instructors

In addition, our future teachers will have a possibility to discuss the role of foreign languages in the educational system with leading linguists and pedagogues from various countries within a round-table discussion 'Academic discourse in research and education'.

The conference is aimed at bringing together Russian as well as foreign researchers and practitioners working in the sphere of foreign language acquisition and contributing to development of linguistics and methods of teaching. Thus, this event is going to be the first step of our students in the world of serious science.
