This programme trains experts in Asian history, culture and philology. It is focused on classical heritage in its diversity and on the perception and interpretation of this classical heritage in contemporary Asian societies. The academic focus of the programme is Asian languages, religions, political and economic history, arts and material culture in line with modern standards of academic Asian studies and a comprehensive foundation in humanities.
Graduates can pursue careers in research, teaching, expertise and consulting in private and public organisations, as well as work in cultural, educational, and media projects.
