Master-class "Facilitation of organizational change: a Russian-British experience."
On the program "Psychology in business" students learn methods of business psychologists of our country and the UK. The master class was prepared based on the methodology of the seminars of our British colleague, a wonderful consultant, a specialist in organizational changes support Bill Mayon-White (London school of Economics, University of Westminster). The master class was conducted by Dmitri Zverev, who assisted Bill twice at the summer school on business psychology in Cambridge and at the seminar on business psychology that took place at suburb village Snegiri.
The specifics of British colleague is the emphasis on the decision-making process in the group and organization. Facilitative techniques are used as a way of communicating the decisions from the manager to all team members and as a way of creation of working conditions of the roles of group members.At the master-class Dmitry Zverev showed how it is possible to help the group to realize its own characteristics of decision-making. A striking element of the master class was the game Marshmellow Challenge, which demonstrates the process of developing solutions in the group.
It should be noted that this master class has completed the series of lectures on the topic of facilitation of organizational change. Students studied the art of working with groups, scripts, and techniques of facilitation sessions of different genres, from strategic to creative. They learned the intricacies of managing group dynamics and facilitation process, mastered scribing and strategic session.
