Outcomes of the training-seminar on management consulting by P. Vlasov.
Students of the program with great interest met approach to management consulting, presented on a three-day training workshop "Management consulting in problem solving as a method of organizational intervention", which was conducted by Peter K. Vlasov, doctor of psychology, consultant, trainer, Director of the Institute of Applied Psychology "Humanitarian center" (Kharkov).
The author has shown that the focus on the search of a new psychologically-based trends in management consulting is becoming a trend in the development of business psychology. He uncovered functions, psychological problems and the uniqueness of product management, highlighted the socio-economic role of the business - psychologist as consultant.
The students had the opportunity to feel themselves in the role of consultants, using the model of analysis and issues in management consulting developed by P. K. Vlasov. Using cases from their own practice, students learned to go to consultation summary through the following stages: selection of the problem situation of the client, the formal definition of the problem, conducting causal analysis, analysis of real problems. After three days of work this model became apparent as a practical tool. Going throw all the stages allows to offer the customer a set of specific projects to improve the efficiency of its business.
The P. K. Vlasov’s approach to management consulting is based on the recognition in the organization the role of organizational-psychological elements and characteristics of the relationship between the "consultant - client". This implies organizational-psychological study of the integration system of organizations, the development of active methods of vocational training, carrying out psycholinguistic analysis of the image the social group of entrepreneurs, the study of organizational management, etc.
According to P. K. Vlasov’s approach, the personality of "human-initiator" plays a big role in the design and subsequent implementation of business development strategy.
P. K. Vlasov showed that values are the basis of the psychological content of the concept of the organization. The conception is initiated by “human-initiator”. His main quality that determines his ability to create an organization is subjective readiness based on values. Based on readiness he can use and involve organization's resources to overcome the conditions of crisis and uncertainty. These ideas are of great importance for the development of business psychology in theoretical and practical directions. From this position, according to the author, the organization is what we think about people.
