Students of the "Population and development" Program became delegates of the VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit

Students of the "Population and Development" program became delegates at the VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit, held in Moscow from September 27 to 28, 2024. The summit was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the BRICS Youth Energy Agency, with support from the State Corporation "Rosatom," and is one of the key events in the youth agenda during Russia's presidency in BRICS in 2024.

On the first day of the summit, students, along with other delegates from BRICS+ countries, participated in thematic discussions focused on a just energy transition, climate resilience in agro-systems, and sustainable innovations.

The second day of the summit took place as part of Youth Day during Russian Energy Week and featured high-level meetings with representatives from the Ministry of Energy, the Russian Energy Agency, and international organizations such as ESCAP.

The students highly valued their experience participating in the international summit and Energy Week and shared their impressions.

Alena Shvetsova: 

"The VI BRICS Youth Energy Summit was an important experience for me. Young professionals from different countries are coming together to address global energy issues and form a common and just position. Special attention is given to the cooperation among young specialists — thanks to the summit, we established connections with leading educational and research institutions in our friendly countries."
